The history of Valentine’s day began as a celebration by the Christian Saint Valentine. He was put into a dank Roman jail simply for performing weddings and was strictly forbidden form ever engaging in anything that would draw attention to Christianity. He like many other Christians was silenced. But he still loved, he loved one woman so much that he healed her heartbreak from his jail cell. He signed his last letter to her “from your Valentine”.
We associate this love day with St. Valentine. A man who was persecuted for his beliefs. Many couples choose this day as a special time to get married, even if you aren’t planning your wedding on Valentine’s day itself you can still do so on the weekend after – February is the perfect time to tie the knot!
